From Private Collection to Public Display: Artworks Light Up the Bank’s Halls
The halls of Camalig Bank have recently been imbued with the vibrant energy of local artistry thanks to a unique collaboration with Dr. Roberto A. Bolinas Jr. Dr. Bolinas, a first cousin to Camalig Bank’s third-generation stewards, loaned 45 artworks from his personal collection to us on 29 June 2023. Since then, the Bank has begun to curate and display the artworks around our Corporate Office building for more to appreciate.
Dr. Bolinas, a Medical Oncologist practicing in Malolos, Bulacan, crossed paths with Tess Carolino, an artist deeply involved in local community service. Through Carolino’s introduction, he delved deep into the vibrant art community of Bulacan, forging connections with numerous artists.
Many local artists grappling with financial hardships and limited exposure approached Dr. Bolinas for support. Moved by their dedication and talent, he not only purchased their art but went a step further by providing supplies and organizing events, supporting a thriving community.
Gradually, Dr. Bolinas’ collection grew, and out of his generosity came an idea—to share the beauty and stories of local artists’ works by loaning them to Camalig Bank to display in our halls. The artworks from 12 artists have now found a home where they can educate and inspire bank employees and visitors about art’s transformative power, radiating creative energy in our spaces.
Our partnership with Dr. Bolinas demonstrates Camalig Bank’s commitment to supporting arts and culture, and we look forward to learning about more ways to shine a spotlight on creative minds.
