RBAP President Visits Camalig Bank for BFRB Members’ Meeting

The Bicol Federation of Rural Banks (BFRB) general members’ meeting was held last 1 April 2022 at the Camalig Bank Corporate Office in Legazpi City. Atty. Albert T. Concha Jr., President of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP), was one of the resource speakers.

Along with Atty. Concha Jr. were RBAP officers: Millot B. Requillo, Executive Director of RBAP and Senior Vice President of BDO Network Bank, Jose Paolo M. Palileo, Vice President for Luzon of Bayanihan Bank, Inc. and Leonard R. De Ocampo, President of Banko ng Kabuhayan, Inc. They shared salient updates on the rural banking industry. These included implementing Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) policies, digitalization, and the emergence of financial technology.

During the open forum, the presidents and officers of the attending rural banks sought clarifications on pertinent matters on operations.

Meanwhile, the members elected new BFRB officers for the fiscal year 2022-2023. Jose Misael B. Moraleda, President/CEO of Camalig Bank, was elected as the nominee director of the RBAP to represent the Bicol region. At the same time, all the incumbent officers retained their present positions, as agreed by the body.

Further, the BFRB President’s report and Treasurer’s report were presented by Ms. Torres and Mr. Moraleda, respectively.
